ADKAR - A Change Management model (Tutorial)

  1. First, people change management is identifying and mitigating resistance to the change. You can assess the organization and take action by developing the Resistance plan.
  2. Secondly, it will improve the speed of Adoption which means how quick do people get on board using the new processes and tools.
  3. Thirdly, it will increase the Utilization which means how many people engage in the change.
  4. And lastly, it is optimizing the Proficiency of how well people are performing their new duties and responsibilities.
The key reason for people change management is to increase the probability of the project being successful. There are four significant factors that people change management provide:
  • Imagine if the people you are designing the solution for are not using the new process or not utilizing the technology correctly - not much will really change.

Presentations and Artifact

Projects are usually great at designing exceptional technology solutions and developing optimized and streamlined process, but may face challenges introducing the change into the organization.

People Change Management provides a competitive advantage, allowing organization to quickly and effectively implement change to meet market needs. Just focusing on delivering a world class technical solution or designing a perfect process is NOT enough!
